The fifth-grade class participated in Law Day in a special opportunity for young students at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York last week. The students participated in a mock trial presided over by U.S. Magistrate Judge Ona Wang, before an empaneled jury of family and friends. The students then enjoyed a pizza lunch at the courthouse followed by an opportunity to talk with Judge Wang (parent of a 4th grader and an alum), and her law clerks and interns. 

This program, supported by the PTA, is part of a year-long law course led by Ms. Kozol and taught by attorneys Dara Sheinfeld and John Gaffney. Thank you to all these wonderful educators, parent chaperones and everyone for using your valuable time supporting this important Anderson program! 

Anderson’s 4th and 5th Grade Bands took the stage on June 15 for their Spring Concert. The 4th Grade Band performed Dragon Dance, Star Wars, and Stronghold, while the 5th Grade Band performed American Spirit March, Nocturnal Dances, and Rust Belt. Students showcased the musical skills, confidence, and teamwork they have developed throughout the school year.

Thank you to Ms. Brincks for her leadership and dedication to Anderson’s music program, and congratulations to all of our student musicians on a wonderful performance!

Last Friday (6/12), 5th graders celebrated stepping up in Riverside Park! Thanks to all the parents who volunteered by bringing drinks and snacks in the heat, led by 5th grade reps Angelica and Judy. Congratulations, 5th graders, on entering this new phase of middle school!

Next year, we're expanding beyond sports and using the power of group tickets to bring our whole community together for the best New York City has to offer. These experiences are not fundraisers – they’re a community-building activity to connect with families. Let's keep the fun going!
