A message from The Anderson School’s PTA president:
We’re so happy you’re here! We’re grateful to usher in the school year with passionate educators and families. Whether your child has nine years or one year left at Anderson, we hope you join us to create positive experiences and wonderful memories for them.
Staying up-to-date with this newsletter, distributed every two weeks, will help, whether it’s learning about volunteering or finding ways for your child to participate in Anderson traditions.
In addition to receiving this newsletter, please stay tuned for a new, efficient way to receive PTA updates. Soon, you’ll be invited to an announcements-only Anderson Whatsapp community, where parents and guardians in grade-level Whatsapp groups will see PTA announcements in one, official place. If you aren’t in a grade Whatsapp group and would like to learn more, please contact your grade rep, from 1st (grade-rep-class-of-2034@andersonpta.org) through 8th grade (grade-rep-class-of-2027@andersonpta.org). Kindergarten parents can contact presidents@andersonpta.org until after your grade rep is elected on Friday, October 16.
However, live connections will remain the most important part of building a strong community. Later today, at the school’s Mix and Mingle, parents can visit and wander (like an open house!) into any available Anderson classroom that isn't occupied by other programming, from 2:50-3:15pm. Then from 3:15-4:15pm, parents can mingle with staff and other grownups in the yard over refreshments.
Please check the school website for dates and this newsletter for future event reminders, as we aim to provide as much notice as possible to busy families. The school administrative office asks for patience when it comes to communication and certain logistics as they are unexpectedly short-staffed. Direct and advanced communication with teachers is advised first.
We hope to see you at the many programs that are planned for the year, and hope you may even feel inspired to lead your own too.
Wishing you a wonderful school year,
Susanna Kim
